Carrefour is making the best of its digital expansion promise in retail, while eCommerce is emerging for so many reasons. Plus, Dolce & Gabbana is bringing its elegant division in-house.
FREMONT, CA: Carrefour, the French retail behemoth, has set out digital initiatives throughout its European markets, delivering on a recent vow to increase digital spending by 50 percent, or 3 billion euros, between 2022 to 2026. Brut Shop, a joint -venture dedicated to the social commerce market, live shopping is one of the projects. It was created with the famous Brut, a European digital media company with 70 million members and 450 million viewers across 100 countries.
Sixty percent of Carrefour consumers who say they want to experience live shopping can access the Brut Shop, which the store describes as "a unique and responsible platform" where consumers can make online purchases even when watching live stream video events on social media. According to a recent study from industry pricing platform Kelley Blue Book, the average price of used vehicles has climbed 42 percent in the past two years and is now close to USD30,000.

The way customers browse for and buy vehicles isn't anticipated to return to pre-pandemic levels, thanks to digitally based auto stores like CarMax or Carvana, as well as initiatives by manufacturers like General Motors' new CarBravo unit, which just started last month.

As a part of the restructure, D&G's beauty sector will take over the development, manufacture, and distribution of Shiseido's fragrance and makeup items when their partnership expires in December. Gianluca Toniolo, the new operations Chief executive and former managing director of global travel retail, Dolce & Gabbana Beauty is the first Italian fashion house to bring its beauty products under the same roof as its clothing LVMH.
