What is retail marketing?
Retail marketing involves how a business acquires and gets those customers to buy their goods and services.
The essentials of retail marketing campaigns revolve around four main factors, which are often called the four Ps: product, price, place, and promotion.
Product: Although retailers don’t usually create their products, their selection of items is still the main selling point. Customers want to understand that you have what they’re searching for.
Price: Such a competitive retail market puts considerable downward pressure on prices. You might want to increase your prices to earn greater earnings on each item, but that will also drive some of your customers to compete with retailers that provide the same product at a lower price.
Place: Place can mean the actual location of a physical store, but it can also refer to online visibility. Acquiring the top results on Google for a given keyword can be just as useful for online retail stores as having the best location on Fifth Avenue in New York.
Promotion: Retail promotion is about connecting with customers and making them more aware of your brand. If consumers don’t know you stand, they won’t think of you when they want a product. Even after reaching the initial awareness stage, they may need to engage with your brand several times before turning comfortable enough to move forward with their first purchase.
