Retail Business Review: Selection Methodology

1. Program Objective

The “Top Solution Providers and Industry Partners” and related recognitions by Retail Business Review are designed to identify organizations delivering measurable impact on sales performance, customer engagement, and operational execution across modern retail environments, with a focus on how technologies and solutions are applied to improve business outcomes.

The program evaluates retailers, solution providers and technology partners, enabling transformation through omnichannel integration, merchandising effectiveness, supply chain optimization, store operations and digital commerce across physical stores, eCommerce platforms and unified commerce environments. Key areas include operational efficiency, customer experience, sales performance, and the ability to support integrated retail ecosystems. The focus is on organizations that enhance system performance, improve coordination across channels, and drive consistent execution in dynamic retail landscapes.

The objective is to highlight organizations that enable efficient, scalable, and customer-centric retail operations through the effective application of technologies, aligned with evolving retail models, market expectations, and changing consumer behaviors. The program does not rank companies but identifies those that meet defined evaluation standards within specific categories.

2. The Selection Framework

The evaluation process is conducted by the Retail Business Review editorial team in collaboration with its editorial board, industry experts, and subscriber base comprising retail executives, merchandising leaders, and commerce decision makers.

The program follows a structured methodology referred to as the Retail Partner Value Assessment Model, designed to evaluate how effectively organizations support revenue generation, customer engagement, and operational efficiency across retail channels.

Subscriber input is a key component of the nomination process. Recommendations from retail leaders, brand operators, and commerce professionals are incorporated to identify providers with demonstrated deployment experience, scalability, and relevance across merchandising, supply chain, store operations, and digital commerce.

3. Evaluation Criteria and Weightage

Each organization is assessed across four core criteria, with a total weightage of 100 percent.

Operational and Execution Capability (30%)
Assessment of delivery consistency, supply chain performance, store and digital operations support, inventory management, and the ability to scale across multiple retail formats and channels.

Business Outcomes (25%)
Evaluation of measurable results such as revenue growth, conversion improvement, cost optimization, inventory turnover, and enhancement of overall retail performance.

Industry Alignment (25%)
Review of how effectively the organization’s offerings align with current retail trends, including omnichannel commerce, personalization, customer experience expectations, and evolving consumer behavior.

Client Adoption and Market Trust (20%)
Consideration of adoption across retailers and brands, repeat engagements, long-term partnerships, and demonstrated trust across retail segments and markets.

4. The Editorial Process

Stage 2: Editorial and technical evaluation
The editorial team and subject matter experts assess shortlisted organizations using operational case references, deployment evidence, and validation inputs against defined criteria.
